Von Furstenberg, circa 1975

I went to a party yesterday, wearing my Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress, purchased in 1975. Not one of the zebra striped affairs but a black grounded dress with a bright floral print. Liked the fact that it still fit! Wore the jacket from my Adolfo suit (the skirt was eaten by moths!) as a jacket. Bought the suit at a thrift sometime in the early 90s. Could use a little re-tailoring at the shoulder . . . rather large shoulder pads are out of sync today (didn't like them in the 80s, for that matter).

Sometimes, there is nothing like old clothes!

Did you get any compiments? Glad you felt good about your dress AND I am even happier that you could maintain your figure---that's says a lot for you! Hope you enjoyed the party!!

I remember my mother having a few of the VonFurstneberg wraps, and they were so flattering. I bet it looked great on you.

I had one of her wraps. Never fit right. When I was young, I had no boobs.

I still have my robe. Don't know about the wrap. Loved them.

I'll bet that was fun putting those things together for an outfit. I think the only thing I wear with a name on them are my Nikes. Ha! A fashionista I will never be.

I have 3 Von Furstenberg dresses from 1989 and the material is gorgeous, the elastic waists comfortable and the colours vibrant. They pack easily, are light weight and they never crease. I wear them with various reactions from "fabulous dress" to "ruffled necklines don't suit you" or "rather low cut, do you want a pin?" lol

I'm wearing one at the Paul Harris dinner.

I love other pieces of clothing I've owned for a long time although some don't fit me now.

Yes, the party was fun. The next day, one of my customers at the liquor store said there was a fund raiser for arts in town. It was $25 and included dancing, so, i put the von Furstenberg on again and went to the dance. Hadn't danced in years (actually, dancing makes me dizzy) but this was rock dancing and was fun.

Marilyn -- I think anyone who tells you your dress is too low cut is out of order! It's your choice how low cut the dress should be. I will say that I do put a strategic pin on the above mentioned dress. I'm not comfortable with a wrap that could open.

I had three or four DVF wrap dresses,I had to give them away when I gained weight, they wore so well and were so comfortable,my friend was so glad to get them,I wish I could buy a couple of them now do they still sell them? My favorite was a caramel like brown with a white print with long sleeves.

I know that DVF made a comeback but did not see any evidence of her work, unless it is very much more discretely done.

I saw a post about a sale of her dresses in New York a few months ago so she has some new dresses in some shops.
