Corner Chat Café

Meet me at the CCC, let's just get together as members and get to know each other on a more personal level rather than just our forum. Let's chat, share pictures, Youtubes, or anything else you care to share. So what have you been up to?

I like it!

I just got back from the Fiber Fair here at the Ag Ctr. Feels like acres of yarn to look at plus books, classes and llamas, angora bunnies, sheep and alpacas. What fun. I was very good and only bought 3 skeins, suitable for felting, and very large double pointed needles (#17). They had HUGE needles that were being used to make rugs but the people at that stall would not let me take photos... whaaaaa... so okay, I didn't buy any of their huge needles. Everyone else was very gracious and I got a few invites to learn how to spin. But the highlight of the day for me was.. these little guys.

And this guy who wanted me to take him home.. he kept getting really close to me, sniffing me, wanting to be petted and staring lovingly at me.. and humming! lol.

And this guy... could he be any cuter... sorry kind of out of focus... this is an alpaca.. the critters above were llamas. I absolutely love llamas. Such cool guys.

Aw they are adorable April. I first thought they were alpacas. You are turning into quite the photographer.

How fun! What a good day you must have had! I love the animals. And I know I would have gone nuts with the yarn...Crowns!

Are you going to take up spinning? I always think of Sleeping Beauty.

Thanks for sharing this, TRW.

I won't be taking up spinning but if I had some land I would definitely have llamas. Each time I see them, I want one. They have such a great vibe... very quiet, calm and they hum. They are just the right height too. You can stare them right in the eye.

Okay…if I sound snarky today, I apologize. I posted today’s quote because we had a meeting last evening (cutting into my gym time) at work. Things have been very slow. So 1. We are moving to an office with cheaper rent. 2. We are laying off, down to a skeleton crew. 3. My job is saved but in addition to doing accounting and human resources, I will now be the receptionist (which means I will have to get here an hour earlier) and the transaction coordinator. So, I will be adding more feathers to my headdress. Back to the quote…We have a young woman who works here who thinks that her poop doesn’t stink. She is a beautiful girl but her attitude just awful. She comes in late, texts all day on her BlackBerry, reads a book or a fashion magazine, puts on her make-up, etc. If anyone asks her to do something, she gets a major attitude and either does a crappy job or just does not do it at all. Well, we all know that she thinks that because of her looks, she does not think that she will be let go. I really hate for anyone to lose their job in this tough time but…Surprise! So, the lesson today is that be kind to others, no matter how hot you look. Do your best at whatever you do. Don’t take your position for granted. If you are slow, ask your fellow workers if there is anything that you can to help them. Or you might be next to go!

(Well, I feel better about getting that off of my chest! And yes, I am upset that the Angles lost to the Yankees, MT5!)

Take it from me... I don't care how beautiful you are. Looks fade, character does not.

I finished knitting and felting a scarf last night. I'm loving this felting and am starting another bag tonight for my friend in Baltimore who helped me out last year. It's about 6' long. I'm keeping this one.
