A good relationship (in my opinion) is where both individuals genuinely LIKE each other, are not TOTALLY similar, but their differences maintain a healthy enough balance where they can appreciate them. And...there is honesty, respect and CONSTANT open communication.

Treat each other respectfully and as equals. Have each others best interests at heart. Don't try to be controlling. Communicate like adults. And of course, there must be sexual attraction.

Good ideas so far. How about liking who you are when you're with them? It's one of the barometers I use and rely on.

I think mutual respect. and a 98%/2% split ---- 98% of the time each partner is working to make the relationship work and the other happy.

Trust....respect.....friendship.... communication....honesty....and of course sexual attraction........all the things I can't seem to find...LOL but I know its out there!!!!

Interesting in that we all seem to want the same things, yet none of us can find them. Um, does that make sense? Here we all are agreeing about what we want and no one finds anyone else here on AES of interest? Hmm, must be the "sexual attraction" part!

I totally agree GlamDiva...and I would add chemistry/sexual attraction to the mix.
