Probably Our Last Ride!

I haven't been posting lately because I haven't really done much riding this year. I did work a lot of hours through the summer and also we had so many rainy days. I know, thats just an excuse. I think I've done more riding this month than all summer long. We had our Indian Summer the past 2 days so my kids and I went out to the state park riding. My daughter is a much more advanced rider than my son and I so she posted her ride on the MMBA website to see if she could get someone to ride with her and she had a taker . . . a guy named Greg answered. He lives in Pinckney which was quite a drive for him . . . probably about 30 miles anyway. They rode about 25 miles on the roads surrounding the park while my son and I stayed within the park. I got about 13 miles in while my son did 18. I had to take pictures since we are in our peak color right now.

I'm not expecting to go out riding much more this year, if at all, since our weather has been anything but cooperative. I guess I'm just not as motivated as most of you. I did get out for a 12 mile ride this morning before the rain started, and that's the weather that we are expecting for the remainder of the week.

Look at all those colors!!! The fall is so beautiful but winter is always tapping on the shoulder.

Yes, autumn is by far my favorite time of year. But you're right . . . . look what we have to look forward to!

Wow ChatCat....such beautiful Fall colors......that is truly such a pretty area you live in, it's too bad the riding season is so short. Ah well, there's always skiing season....and snowmobiling...and ice fishing....and....whatever! Winters are always good for something inventive. Hey...you know...12 miles is a good ride, better than watching Lance ride on TV. How's the new bike doing?

Wow! Autumn really comes to your part of the country. It looks like a great ride with those long, scenic, roads. Thanks for sharing your story and great photos ChatCat!

I'm thinking possibly next Tuesday. They're calling for temps near 60F and partly cloudy. Maybe we can go do it again! I just hope that there isn't a strong wind.

Beautiful pics! I got a 22 mile ride in last Tuesday. This summer was terrible. I don't think we ever got more than two nice days in a row. I plan to ride into December if we have days without rain. I've learned that the bike path is impassable after snow season hits. (I live in Pittsburgh)

Yes Denny, I think you people got all the same weather that we did, just a day later. The Detroit forecasters are now telling us that we could see the 70's on Thursday and Friday so I'll try to get some riding in on those days.
