Brand new business owner
Hi everyone. I just joined Eons and found that this group is exactly what I was looking for. I need your help. At age 54 I have realized my dream and started my own business: On-Demand Marketing. I left corporate America because at the end of the day I didn't see that I had achieved much. My mantra for this business is "growing small businesses". I work with a group of very gifted experts in their fields, none of which are my employees. We've known each other for ten+ years and we like working together. My take is that, since I don't have a lot of overhead, I can pass the savings along to the clients. In fact, offering them large corporation quality that they would typically not be able to afford. I function as the project manager and also do a lot of writing (copywriting, press releases).
I need clients. I've joined the Chamber of Commerce and the local business association. They are great people and I go to most of the networking events. I can see that there is a lot of opportunity but up to now....no takers.
I've also just sent out a mailing to 30 pre-qualified companies that I received from my very generous printer. Next Monday, I'll start the follow up phone calls.
Is there anything else you can think of that I should be doing?
On another note, do you recommend one accounting software over another?
Oh, and my website is odm-online.com if you want to check it out.
Sorry for the lenghty missive.
