Early evening sunlight - The pretty red Japanese maple was a birthday gift from my older son & his family. I always wanted one, & it's done well so far :-) The rocks underneath are mostly from the next-door neighbor, who collected them from float trips up north on the Buffalo river. She moved away, remarried, & now lives in Germany, but I think about her every time I look at those rocks. The rocks on the wall (left side) are ones I brought home from my last float trip on the same river.

There are other kinds of days. this year we have been so involved in the quilt world that our yard is not so good, so soon the snow will cover any neglected areas for a bit.

While all that is happening,The scenic quilts we create don't grow weeds so they are what is happening now as the weather is too hot, or too cold.
