BalboaJeep, I do have good bags, but the bus is always full so either you have to hold stuff while you stand or balance it on your lap along with your purse, or whatever if you get a seat. I work downtown, so even if I did want to drive it would probably be too expensive.
Lovesreading - please tell us about your sweet potato salad.

I know what you mean about working in the city. When I lived in San Diego, I worked right downtown. It was so expensive to pay for parking. I rode the little red trolley to work. It was fun and it dropped me off right in from of the sky rise were I worked, a shorter distance than the Ace parking lot and for a lot less than the monthly parking fee. I parked my car in trolley’s parking lot for free and got on board. There were four of us who worked for the same company that caught it at the same stop. We were a lively group!
I've been to San Diego and have a picture of those red trolleys taken from my hotel room window!
Well, the potluck was this week and since couscous contains gluten I ended up taking a quinoa salad which seemed to go over well. There was only one other vegetarian dish (spicy Chinese noodle salad - quite good) plus the veggies and chips with dips and the desserts. Lots of dishes with chicken, beef, seafood, etc. Sigh. Now there's going to be another potluck the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and probably another before Christmas, so I will be looking for recipes again.
