mountain bluebird

I went to Cabin lake, a remote bird blind in Central Oregon. I took 3 friends with me, one being one of the builders of the blind years ago. This place attracts birds from the ponderosa pine country as well as the bitter brush desert. It is a water guzzler so it brings in mobs of birds of many kinds for a drink.

The bluebird and the juniper berries just make for a terrific picture.

Indeed that is a Western Bluebird, the red breast gives it away. These are Mountain Bluebirds. We have more of this variety in our area than the Western, but both are common.

This is a straight image, the distortion is caused by shooting through a double pane window.
