I love milk but when I finally gave it up hoping to clear up a yeast infection (it didn't help that) it did take away a LOT of my breathing problems--which people had been swearing it would do but I resisted giving it up! I miss it, but I like breathing freer.

WVfarmer62,
probiotics is great for curing yeast infections. Taking anitibotics for years can strip our bodies of its contain beneficial, or "good," bacteria that are similar to those normally found in your body.
Personally, I found that the probiotics cured more then I had hoped for. Now I take them as part of my daily diet.
According to the Mayo Clinic probiotics also:
* Treat diarrhea, especially following treatment with certain antibiotics
* Prevent and treat vaginal yeast infections and urinary tract infections
* Treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
* Reduce bladder cancer recurrence
* Shorten the duration of intestinal infections
* Prevent and treat inflammation following colon surgery (pouchitis)
* Prevent eczema in children

Yes I do take probiotics though it wasn't enough to cure that particular infection. You might not believe what I used--boric acid. It worked. I've been yeast free for almost a year!
