from the article ... More than 90% of the time, people allergic to cow's milk are allergic to goat's milk, Sicherer adds: "If someone's allergic to cow's milk, I tell them to stay away from mammalian milks."

My ex was given goat's milk in infancy due to an apparent allergy to cow's milk. Yet he has consumed cow's milk most of his life. I was told by my mother that myself and all my siblings were allergic to penicillin, yet when I was troubled with an abcessed tooth a few years ago and took it, no problem.
I sometimes wonder if the "allergy" thing wasn't just a mindset of our parents.

I think sometimes, though, BarbInBend, there are a few of us who either outgrow childhood allergies or grow into other allergies as we age. It's happened in my family although not to me.

I personally like 1% milk. My husband drinks the Silk soy milk which I don't care for--too rich, too thick, too sweet for me. Blechh!

Milk...sure love it yet I usually drink it only with hot fresh baked cookies or in cereal and it is low fat.

What surprised me is the hemp milk!
Love those old milk jars too!

Does anyone remember drinking the powdered milk? I hated that stuff!

I hated powdered milk too!

I remember when the milkman delivered the milk to our side door and in the summer it would get warm and in the winter it would freeze. The cream rose to the top and my mom loved some of that in her coffee. That was before mandatory pasteurization.

I usually drink fat free milk or soy milk. Gotta watch that fat content. When I go to my son's house, he drinks only whole milk and boy can you taste the difference. That fat just comes through. Yum, Yum!!

I am fan of 1% cow milk, for some reason it just seems to get colder than higher fat content milk. Use soy in smoothies. Had no idea there was a hemp milk. Everything seems to just be rife with choices, sometimes it just numbs my brain.

I was raised on a dairy farm and drank raw milk till I left home and wow did I miss it.
Would love a jug of it again...MMMMM nothing in the world like REAL milk right from the cow.
We would drink it right from the cow a lot of times!! Dad would squirt some into a little pan we could drink out of. What a treat that was. OMG what a wonderful memory...
