I don't know why you are upset. After all, it must have been really tiring to call your organization all those times. And, just for a free procedure. I don't know Mitchbilly - what's wrong with your sensibilities - Oh My God!!!!
Could it be THAT these people (think that they) are MORE/MOST IMPORTANT than anyone else and that they DESERVE this service FOR FREE? And, if you cannot be responsible enough to pay for this service then WHY THE H*** do you have these animals!!! Maybe it is lack of COMMON SENSE? Perhaps...........
Hey, why are you surprised at that attitude, when we have allowed at least 2 generations to adopt the attitude that if they can't afford what they want, there will be some 'program' or credit card to help them get it. After all, NO ONE in the U.S. should have to do without something just because they can't afford it.
Oh, my sarcasm runneth over!
OMG AuntieEmma! What an excellent Reply! Well said........uh are you saying that the younger generation is a "bit" spoiled and expect to have everything because they deserve it? LOL That is exactly how it has gotten to be. Banks issuing credit/ loans whatever to "wannabees gotta have it now" and extending far too much credit to those who don't care if they pay it back......unfortunately, those with COMMON SENSE have to pay for their behavoir!
And I don't suppose you returned her call either....or if you did that you had a snotty and condescending tone...did you? lol
And for all that stress you get to feel that you are doing your civic duty.
Would I have returned her call? Nope, in fact I would have deleted the message and if possible would have blocked her number. If she can't afford to have the dogs spayed, then she isn't a responsible owner,m and I wouldn't want to do anything to make pet ownership easier for her. Maybe if it isn't easy she will give up the animals.
Because a person doesn't have the funds to spay / nueter does NOT make them irresponsible pet owners . Most of these lower income folks LOVE and care for pets , and I have seen MANY loose running pets in affluent neighborhoods .
I suppose if you are in the upper income median , its ok to be JERKS about pets , and put down on someone less fortunate than yourself . Did that RUDE comment make you feel better hometowngirl?
if she can't afford to have them spayed, then she don't need them. this is another situation of people WANTING something they can't afford!
the dogs probable haven't had their shots and she will want that done (FREE ).
Well if it saves the life of one dog, even if the people can not afford to get them spayed I would prefer that they have somewhere to go in order to get it done.
Case in point...............I found a loose dog. Really nice dog but very wild. I have 3 myself and so asked my daughter to foster it while trying to find the owner. Humane society said to call the pound but I could not do that as it would have been put down. The owners were not found and they fell in love with this dog. Now what? It needs fixing quick, its young and inclined to run if it can. Explains why lost in the first place. So........they cant afford to get it fixed and neither can I. I already took in a cat and had to get that done. My own dogs take a lot of money. So I wish there was a place to take it (Cody) and get it done free and first batch of shots as it was a stray and not planned.
The answer according to your standards would be to take the dog to the pound and let it get put down because my kids can not afford it. So I am not entirely in agreement. A lot of folks can give a dog a good home but not afford the expensive stuff to get started out. If I had money I would set up a foundation to provide health care for needy pets it would make a big difference and more people would be able to have animals and less would need to die.

I needed a surgery for my 9 year old dog and guess what ??? I had to pay for it;;;;thousands of dollars. She is my resposibility and I love her. Of course we didnt eat for several months but she is just fine. If you cant pay you should not OWN.
