For myself I would not marry out of my race. I am not a racist either. My son is married to a woman of Mexican ancestory, one daughter married a Native American/Greek fellow. We have a niece with a husband whose ancestory is Japanese and we have ebony in the wood pile along with us who are more like birch.

It depends on the person. I've been married to someone of Japanese ancestory, and Ron's been married to someone of Indian ancestory.,,, thank goodness it's not as much as an oddity as it used to be considered. Though I do remember when my daughter was a baby many people assumed that I had adopted her from China or Viet Nam. More so the case if her dad didn't happen to be along.

Why was this man not immediately fired? I guess the poor fool doesn't realize that our President is bi-racial and has done rather well!

BATON ROUGE, La. - A Louisiana justice of the peace who refuses to marry interracial couples resigned Tuesday, after weeks of calls for his ouster from civil rights groups and several public officials, including the governor.

Keith Bardwell quit with a one-sentence statement to Louisiana Secretary of State Jay Dardenne: "I do hereby resign the office of Justice of the Peace for the Eighth Ward of Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, effective November 3, 2009."
