Jump Rope Rhymes/Verses
Does anyone remember any of the rhymes we recited while jumping rope. I was thinking about this and can't remember any of them completely. Anyone remember any to share?
I remember all of these but, Miss Mary Mack was my favorite.

Never jumped rope, not at least like the girls did!
I do remember one, well used verse as a kid, when making a choice or choosing sides...
"Enie, meanie, miney, moe... catch a monkey by the toe. My mother says I should choose this here one! " (obviously there were variations of this, as additional words could be added to obtain the desired result!) I was no dummy, as a kid!

Brings back such memories and thanks to a few of you I now can remember some songs we sang while jumping....Mary -Mary, Cinderella, Teddy Bear one. Gosh that was sooooooooo long ago.

How about???Engine engine ,number nine....anybody recall more of this one???I'm stumped.
also some rhyme for choosing sides...Everybody put their foot in a circle....and it went...(can't recall) just that it would end up saying ..."out goes Y-O-U. "

We did one that started out with regular jumping while reciting:
Down by the ocean
Down by the sea
Johnny broke a milk bottle
Blamed it on me
I told MaMa
MaMa told PaPa
PaPa gave Johnny
A red hot whipping.
At this point, the two holding the jump rope speeded up fast as they could go until the person jumping tripped.

This was more for the foot thing, used to choose a team-mate or captain of a team.
