I remember Miss Mary Mack
Miss Mary Mack, Mack, Mack
All dressed in black, black, black
With silver buttons, buttons, buttons
All down her back, back, back
She asked her mother, mother, mother
For fifty cents, cents, cents
To see the elephant, elephant, elephant
Jump the fence, fence
If I can go back that far in time, LOL
We used to do the I Am A Pretty Little Dutch Girl. It went something like this.
I am a pretty little Dutch Girl
As pretty as can be
And all the boys around my block
Go crazy over me
My boyfriend's name is Billy
He comes from good old Philly
With a dimple in his cheek
And a cherry on his nose
And that's the way my story goes
One day as I was walking
I found my boyfriend talking
To a pretty Dutch girl
With one big curl
And that's the way my story goes.
OH my goodness, what a memory to recall. That was fun.
This is all I can remember - "Mother - Mother, I am ill, Send for the Doctor over the hill, send for the Nurse, send for the lady with the alligator purse. Here comes the doctor, here comes the nurse, here comes the lady with alligator purse." ( I can't remember how it ends, or is the way it goes?)

I can remember the Miss Mary Mack one, but I think we used to do it to the slap hand thingy? Not sure what its called? You know where there are two people sitting/standing in fron of each other and you slap hands of each other , one at a time and cross over, slap the other, then hit both your hands against theirs, and then clap your hands together....
Does anybody have a clue what I am talking about? Or do I just sound like a crazy old lady ?

i remember the hand clapping games and we did do Miss Mary Mack to it too.
I'm a Little Dutch Girl, dressed in blue
These are the things I like to do
Bow to the Captain
Curtsy to the Queen
and turn my back to the submarine.
I know there were lots of others, and definitely variations of all the ones mentioned above. I can't remember what we called the hand clapping game either, but that had a number of rhymes too.
Never heard the Mary Mack one and the "Mother Mother I am ill", seem to think that the Doctor Nurse and Alligator Purse, got into some kind of dispute.
Cinderella, dressed in yellow, went upstairs to see her fellow.
How many kisses did she give him? 1-2-etc
