What won't a caregiver do?

On a call to my folks yesterday (the highly independent couple in their 80's), I was asked to help!!! I said sure, what can I do?

They need me to dog-sit at the end of the month because they are going out with another older couple for a day trip by bus! They will be gone more than six hours and hate to leave their 'baby' any longer than that.

So, I'm driving to their house with my dog to spend a day with their dog. Oh well,,,they always keep me guessing!

I am so glad that they can still get out together. That is worth the day dog-sitting.

What a great message! Yes, imagine those wonderful old people out enjoying themselves. And you make it more enjoyable because they won't be worrying about their dog. Definitely a good deed!

Antiquemother2, How funny! Here is this elderly, but independent couple needing you to babysit their dog. Sure, the dog probably would have been okay for the day, but it is very sweet of you to agree to do this for your parents. I like to hear about what a caregiver is asked to do. When my Dad was hallucinating from pain meds, my daughter got out the broom to brush the imaginary bugs off the ceiling. That made him happy. Different strokes for different folks. Sherry H
