The George Clooney Rule
I came across this the other day and it works! I have a hard time knowing whether someone is really interested in me or whether I'm just fantasizing. The way it works is, if you ask a lady out, would her response be the same if you were George Clooney. She would go out of her way to make a date work with George Clooney wouldn't she? And - this is important - if she truly was unavailable that day, she would suggest an alternate day or event instead of letting the opportunity pass.
I tried it out. I asked Lady A to a concert. Her response: "I'm not a big fan of that band". Would she say that to George Clooney? I asked Lady B: "I'm not a big fan of that band, but I would love to go with you anyway." Who do you think is a fan of me? Now I know who I should get to know better and who is wasting my time.
