Summer to Winter....

Now that our gardens are history, well for the most part anyway, do you have any plans of doing something else with them for over the winter?

I'm going to make a holiday garden. Do some pumpkins, gourds, and fall flowers up till Thanksgiving weekend and then deck it out for Christmas. Not planting anything just going to use pots and freestanding items. Much better than leaving just a bare plot of ground out there until spring.

Sorta like this only on a larger scale.

Thats a good idea Kathy.I buy bales of hay each fall to scatter over my garden for the winter. And I usually get a couple extra so I can fix up something for a fall scene. This year Im going to put out my two floppy scarecrow dolls and my littles gourds and pumpkins.the outside cats think I baught the hay for them last year so they would go over and jump and play in it,go figure, lol.

LOL...of course you bought it just for them, you just forgot LMHO!

I'm going to try to do a Halloween "garden" in the front area...complete with gravestones and maybe even a casket...that's if I get up enough time and energy....both are at a minimum right now.. :(

I love sprucing up pots for the fall. A great time to add some Blood Grass, Ornamental Cabbages, a few pansies. A few punkins on the ground always looks great!
