Trikke Pon-E

Pronounced "trike pony"

Would you ever consider riding this electric scooter? You shift your weight from side to side to make it go, but you can just rely on the battery to move you uphill or whenever you get tired. You charge the battery at home for 7 cents-worth of electricity.

Have you tried any other interesting modes of transportation?

Seems like a rear view mirror would be necessary for going on the road, especially because of the side to side motion when using your own leg power. Here's a link to a sales video: view link

This would be great fun and a good form of transportation. My concern is we have busy highways right out our drive and I would fear getting hit. It's worth a try.

They fold up, and weigh 38 pounds, so it's possible to carry it in a car, but the $1700 price tag would keep me from considering it.

Guess I won't be even thinking about getting one. Traffic would scare me too.

I would worry about my sense of balance. I don't think I've told you but I did take those motorcycle lessons with my friend back in August. Passed the written test but not the driving part (missed it by 6 points). I really struggled with turns and cornering.
