Here in SE Missouri, winter is upon us, earlier than usual, unfortunately. It's 1 p.m. here now and only 49 degrees. I've just learned that my brother is incredibly ill in Texas and my DH wants me to try to get there but I can't leave him. Brother has been tentatively diagnosed with myasthenia gravis and is losing about a pound a day. He's over 6 feet and is down to just over 120 pounds. I can't even imagine how he looks. Thanks goodness he has a much younger wife who has an incredibly good head on her shoulders and is taking excellent care of him. More as it happens here.

Here in Indiana we are about the same. I am dreading winter and the fall rains have fallen for the last 2 days, in excess I might add. My daughter and family went camping this week-end at Summit Lake Park, (her middle daughter works there) and said that they got through last night without any problems except that the firewood was too wet to burn, but they got a fire going this morning. Of course she had a camper with a furnace etc. to sleep in. Camping like that is sort of like changing neighbors for the week-end to me.
I am still reeling from the loss of my husband - I am taking it day-by-day. I knew this day would come but the loneliness is incredible after the 24/7 caregiving...it is like whiplash...so much to do one day and nothing the next...
Mesa is finally bearable outside with 90 degree days and cool nights. I worked this week and will work next week as well. I am anxious for the checks to start coming in.
I am sorry that I am not posting very much, Nanc50...it is hard to keep the conversation going once the job has ended.
Goodyear AZ. it has been cooler, but they say it is going to be back in the 100's by the weekend. I have been off work but I'm heading back Thursday. From what I have heard the flu has hit the hospital. I still need to get David's flu shot, I got mine at work.
HippyGirl my prayers are with you.
