We pay for it - so let's talk about it...

Some of us pay for TV - others get it free....but however it comes into our home...

What are your favorite TV programs - and least favorite this fall? The shows can be "coming back" or "new"...

I like "Mercy" so far and don't like "Trauma" - too graphic even if it is fake for me...I am not crazy about reality shows either. Any of them...how about you?

What do you think of Dr. Oz?

This season, our favs., so far are; Castle, Mentalist, NCIS, Criminal Minds, CSI and CSI-NY, Desperate Housewives, Flash Forward, Dancing With the Stars, Monk and Survivor. Close seconds would be Bones, Amazing Race, America's Got Talent and American Idol, Next Food Network Star and HGTV Decorating Star.

My favorites -- The Mentalist, The Closer, and I never fail to get hooked by American Idol. I also like The Amazing Race and, this year, have been watching Survivor. I like So You Think You Can Dance better than Dancing With the Stars -- the talent there is amazing and I'll admit to the guilty pleasure of enjoying the bad auditions (like Idol). Another guilty pleasure that I probably shouldn't admit -- I watch Bridezillas -- I can't believe that people actually behave that way -- and that they can actually attract husbands! Oh, and an old favorite is The Vicar of Dilby on PBS -- the entire cast is wonderful!

Oh, where to start....I have my DVR set for House, NCIS, Bones, Biggest Loser, Closer (when in season), Fringe, Mentalist (when in season), Greys Anatomy.
Oh ya, Days of Our Lives is a must, even though it gets frustrating. I generally fast forward anything that is silly or boring in Days
I am very heavy on the TCM channel (Turner Classic Movies).
I enjoy HGTV, DIY channels.

I never watch the big news channels...I do 'watch'/listen to the weather channel throughout the day for noise mainly, but I do like to stay informed with the big weather events they give.

i watched mercy, and three rivers, and having been a nurse, just got annoyed at the fantasy of it all. how nice it would have been for me to spend that much time with one patient. and drs that cared that much, geeze. but im that way with all the "hospital" shows. they are pure fantasy, because if they were reality no one would watch.

i prefer the how to shows, national geographic. the planet series is great. wish the dinosaur series was back, that was very interesting. and of course the news and weather (farmer) .

but general, i find myself bored at tv shows now. does that mean im getting old.

We are all getting old but I think that I have a hard time watching because they are all so predictable...

Many years ago, like 15 years or so, every night, when I went to bed a local station had Star Trek reruns. Every night, I would turn it on as I got ready for bed and one night, my husband was watching a football game downstairs and so he came to bed late and Star Trek had started.

I asked him if he wanted me to tell him what was going one and he said..."No, it's okay. Every night, someone either fights with an alien, falls in love with an alien, or an alien invades their body." Star Trek hasn't been the same for me since. It is so true.

The TV shows are very predictable...

As a former Miami resident I really appreciate Miami CSI. They give great views of the surrounding area in Miami-Dade as fill-ins between portions of the going story. I've also picked up a good deal of the chatter they use to describe what goes on in working a problem for solution.

It's not every day or all the things they show but I look at ITC quite a bit. They use foreign films that aren't on the US channels. Thay also show the entire film un-cut by commercials.
