Age!

Is age a factor in finding a mate?
Example: It seems to me men in their 50's are looking for women in their 40's.
Men in their 40's are looking for women in their 60's.
Women in their 60's are looking for men in their 50's.

I prefer someone close in age, but attitude is more important to me. If a man calls himself and "old man" I lose all interest. To me they are resistant to change or learning about new things. I had coffee with a man 5 years younger then myself a few years ago, and he said to me "If I had known that I was going live this long, I would have taken better of myself". Red flags for me. He was in terrible health and proud of it. Each day is an adventure and I want to share my life with someone who is inquisitive and enjoys each day, instead of complaining about it.

Age would be a factor in finding a mate, IMO. But it's not a big factor in dating. If that's confusing to anyone, it's probably because they believe finding a mate is the purpose of dating. I believe a mate is a possible outcome from dating, not the objective.
