Tide Is Turning

It seems as though all the negative talk and mis-information coming from the right is backfiring. Support is growing for health care reform: Health care overhaul has a pulse

Well, having a pulse and being truly alive are two different things. It's still on life-support/evenly split, which they seem to see as an improvement. (Obviously it was in very grave condition before to see that as an improvement.) And after the August Town Hall Meetings, hopefully Congress will put together something reasonable and sustainable after hearing from their constituents. Otherwise, I'm sure it will be close to death again. We can always hope that something viable will really come out of this painful process.

It's interesting how polls can be irrelevant and imprecise one minute and then very supportive the next.

Depends on what is in the glass, if it's crapola, which is what I see so far, it might not smell so good next week, or next month.

Let's see what the CBO comes up with. This thing might end up on life support.

The CBO figures will be light. As usual, things always wind up costing more than the CBO's figures....which are always higher than Congress' estimates, which generally suck wind.

It will cost more in 2 years than the CBO's 10 year outlook. Copy and paste this sentence and see me in 2 years if this thing ever sees the light of day....or the dark of day.

The CBO figures are definately low. After all the bill proposed by the Senate Finance Committee now must go to the full Senate. And if (unfortunately) it does pass the full Senate it has to go to Nancy Pelosi and the liberals in the House. Who knows what changes they will make that will increase the cost, increase taxes, impose more fines, etc. once they get their hands on the bill. And if it does get this far then there is reconciliation between the House and the senate. And let us not forget that this is a prime bill for the Congessmen and Senators to slip in their earmarks and pork barrel projects to the final bill if it does reach that point. If the final price tag is below ONE TRILLION $, I will truly be amazed. Sure the tide is turning.
