i have been thinking @ this
I just finished reading “the Dark Side, Thomas Jefferson & Civil liberties.
Learned a lot abut a founding father that always seemed to be a living paradox.
He was born from aristocracy yet wrote ands poke with Hatred toward the Aristocratic class while copying their life style. He did write that in America he wanted an aristocracy of people with the “attributes of Enlightenment, gentility and taste. Note: His dislike toward the traditional aristocratic class did not stop him from marrying into the wealthiest and most aristocratic family of Virginia, the Randolph’s. Then thought about pres G bush & compared him to what I learned about T. Jefferson.
Thomas Jeferson________________________________ __G.Bush
Belief: democracy: thought the world lead by……………….I would say similar.
America would respond to its democratic institutions
Jefferson was an Ideologue who responded through his underlings
viciously with non factual info, out right lies about the person or
event……………………………………………………………I would say similar
role of civil rights: Jefferson secondary issue, to
the accomplishment of a culture o :natural aristocratic values.
Bush similar in some ways civil rights secondary to the achievement of political ends.
Jefferson believed that the American Revolution would be the signal break their chains of ignorance said this I the midst of the reign of terror in France. “If Adam &Eve ere but left in every country free it would be better then it is now.”
After reading this it made sense to me if this thought was accepted by American political values it would be the source of this country’s messianic sense it is obligated to spread democracy throughout the world. Pres. Bush I believe continued this thought.
as i said i have been hinking aboutthis but cannot take the thought to a conclusion can anyone assist?
