upset

Some of you know I work a full time job and also have a part time craft business painting buckets and things like that. I do that because I need the money to support my grandkids. I put in a lot of hours and don't charge a lot for my crafts. I sell mostly at work. I had 2 orders for oval buckets with snowmen. I got them done, took them to the two ladies and told them if they needed to wait till payday to pay me then that would be OK. Gave them the buckets Tuesday and come Friday one called in sick and the other now wants to pay this next Monday. I spent about 9 hours painting the 2 buckets and have nothing to show for it. I can understand the one that is sick but the other person was there and just didn't want to pay that day. I feel a little petty, but I really need that money!!!!
If you go to my home page you can see some of my crafts. The 2 snowmwn buckets are the ones I am trying to get paid for.

Your things are very nice. Have a look at this web site and see if it is something you could do. I don't know how it works for a seller as I've only been a buyer but it might be worth looking into. I've bought things from here and have always been pleased with the items.

Thanks to all and I did get paid for one today because she wanted to place another order, but the other one has't come back to work yet, but I feel she is really sick or had some kind of emergency. I usually pay for everything myself up front then collect my fees after I finish. Next time I will start telling them a week ahead of time to bring their money on what ever day I plan on taking it.
Thanks for the link me26. I will check it out.

I would ask for payment when the order is placed, or at least enough to cover materials.

Ask for a deposit payable when they order the items. that way, if they skip out, you'll have something.

I used to have that problem with home parties. (Tupperware, a toy company, a clothes company etc.) Someone would always order a hundred bucks worth of stuff and when the items come in, they never have the money and I would be stuck with stuff I don't want and have to try to sell it to someone. Quit for that reason.

I agree...I have an eBay buisness that brings in about $2500.00 perweek...I sell my artwork and the artwork of others...last month I made a whopping $11,000.00...but I have to work about 12-14 hours EVERYDAY!!!! I am on the internet until sometimes 3AM and get up and get moving again around 5:30AM...last year I paid off all my credit cards...I am completely debt free....Don't wait for others to pay you...go get it yourself...you can do it...set your goals high...shoot for the stars...get a business plan together and turn it into a business!!! You can do it...One customer does not a business make! Get going! It's all up to you!!! You are holding your profits...show them to the world...your talent is your future...it will be brighter!
