Oh really? You like to quilt Alaskagirl? ......well my friends and I take days out to go to a lot of the rural shops all in one day. The shops put on a "shop hop" as I am sure they do all over the country but here in Michigan, they take turns and have a theme. The shops who participate make a quilt and each one on the "hop" give you a free part to the pattern. The customer purchases a bag and it has some free stuff in it, at each shop you get your passport signed and another free gift. There are sales and food and goodies at each stop on the hop. Does anyone else do that?
Well, we also have favorite shops throughout the state and the Pig patch is one of my favorites. Not so much for her fabrics but the location. The house and farm and just the ride there. There is a farm market we always stop at and it has a restraunt/ bakery so we have lunch there. Makes for a nice day out. There is also an Amish shop near by that you can buy really good things like wild rice and home made baked things. Just makes a great day out.

Wow, sounds great. I don't think they do anything like that around here. I have been doing fleece baby quilts with embroidered squares. Have one in process right now. I have also been doing big fleece ones for my kids. Have a princess one for a grand daughter for Christmas. Once I retire I plan to work on some others. Have material for some wildlife ones I want to do.
No such thing as a dreary day....not the way you described yours. Sounds like it was a beautiful day and I love the photos. Thank you for showing me something different.
