I don't have a McDonald's near me but I have noticed that most eating out - including fast food is getting more and more expensive. So I do it less and less.
They still have their "Value" menu of dollar items. It's possible to have a sandwich and a drink, still, for $2.00. Salad, $1,00, yoghurt, $1.00. Senior coffee: varies, but always less than $1.00, often $.50.
All the fast food places now have $1.00 menus, so one can still eat out and be thrifty.
True, "Mickey D's" does have its "Dollar Menu" but there isn't much on it. The chicken sandwich is very salty - not good if you have high blood pressure. Coffee is $1.25 for a small cup and if you're going through the Drive Thru you can't get a refill. I agree with eec, seems all fast food is getting pricier these days. Pretty soon the best option will be to cook at home.

I haven't set foot in a fast food restaurant for at least 10 years and then, only because my husband was a manger at the time.
Cook & eat at home. It's much healthier anyway.
i stopped going to mc-d's a log time ago . because i thought they charged too much . they started raising prices long before any one else did. now, the only reason i go into one is to steal napkins.
Family restaurants are also raising their prices. We used to have a lovely breakfast type family restaurant in my area. People gathered there for decades for a breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast and coffee at a cost of $2.75. Then about a year ago it was under new ownership and the same breakfast jumped to $6.75. Now the place is "closed" and For Sale.

McD's also usually has relatively clean bathrooms.... good to aim for when one is required!

yep, I always stop on road trips to use their bathrooms...btw, the cones are $1 here
The cones used to be $1.00 here but then for some reason last spring they lowered them to 49 cents. I think it may have been an attempt to compete with the ice cream places that are cropping up all over in my area.

Geesh....if ya' think Mickey D's is expensive---go to a Red Robin and get a burger, fries and a soft drink---that'll set ya' back at least $10.00....
