I am clairaudient, so I hear them, or rather they talk to me, but usually never unless I ask for them. At times I get a feeling that someone wants to talk to me so I go sit and get my pendulum and wheel and ask who wants to tell me something and out it comes.

I have a friend whos late ex husband would write in the steam on the mirror...among other ways. I guess you have to be open as to where you see it.

I can't remember what it might be called but I have often picked up scents and aromas from spirit. I've heard something twice and the second time I wrote it down because it was coming through my own rambling worried thoughts at the time and the words were so calm that they really helped me understand my predicament more.

I've had dreams where I've been given information and then found it to be true and I couldn't have known it beforehand.

Plus there have been very uniqe experiences which proved to me that there was life after death. I guess we all need our own first hand experiences to really prove something like this.

Have you ever read the book 'Hello from Heaven' as that has a variety of ways that people have been contacted. Some have actually had their phone ring and heard their loved one's voice on the line before realising they couldn't possibly be ringing.

I think you're right about needing to be open as to where you experience these things.

I think you're right, Owly1, about needing our own experiences. As much as I want to believe, I still have doubts. I used to think I was so sure, but that was before I was tested. It was much easier to have faith back then.

I have often spoken of boundaries of believability which we all have and we are fine about accepting anything within those boundaries but anything beyond them and we will reject it until we experience something which causes us to inwardly digest what has happened and either accept it and thus expand our boundaries of believability or put everything on hold until we have further evidence.

At that point we may want to do some research to find out what it is we could be about to absorb.

It's good not to accept anything without having our own proof. There is a quote about keeping an open mind but not so open that our brains fall out... lol

Sounds like you have chosen to retreat within safer, more reassuring boundaries for a while, while you build up your trust again.

I have heard and felt deceased friends and loved ones near to me .
I only had one experiance with a full body apparition.
I left this message here some time ago about this but will repeat it again for your info.
I had a dear male friend from my HS years. We stayed in touch for a life time.
The last time he , his wife myself and husband got together we were talking about our HS years and all the good times we had, with much laughter.
During the conversation my friend mentioned that he had kissed me once and I stated "No way...I would have remembered that.".....and We all laughed about my being a senior citizen with a failing memory.

Approximatly a month after that last visit, he was killed in a motorcycle accident.
One week after his demise, I was in bed just getting ready to doze off, but not asleep, when my bedroom door opened and in walked Abe. He came over to the bed kissed me soundly and said "You wont forget this one", turned around and left . I was astonished and would not have believed what happened but for the fact that he left the bedroom door open....and it had been closed!
Later I mentioned this to his wife and she laughed and said "that sounds just like him!"

I have not had any experiances like this since, although I have lost many dear family members in the last 10 years.

What an experience. Sorry that you lost your friend though.
I have heard people that spoke to their friends or family members before their demise and have told them to watch for butterflies or birds or something after they die, as a way of showing that they "made it" to heaven...but to me, those are too common to use as signs. I think I would have to choose a much rarer sight or something that was special and unique to me. I am a very outgoing and outspoken person so I think it would have to be something loud and distinct! ha ha
And not that I "made it" anywhere...just that I was still living, but in a different way. Sometimes that thought is so comforting.

Wow Rhianne that gave me goose bumps. Years ago my fiance was killed on his motorbike and he returned to me. Also someone I later had a relationship with and ended up breaking up with them also died and he visited me while I was in work.

Both experiences were amazing but I'll tell you about the second one as it's close to your own.
My ex bf (boyfriend) used to tease me that he would come to see me at my place of work and I used to tell him not to as I'd be embarrassed by the attention.

Well after he had died I was alone in work and just getting on with my job when all of a sudden the atmosphere changed and I giggled.. I turned round, certain that he was right there having a laugh with me. Of course the place remained empty apart from myself and I just knew it was him... coming back to see me in work as he had always said he would.

Never have seen a full apparition though but my mum has. Our house was haunted by this man and he got me out of bed once, sleepwalking and explained what had happened to him but my Mum actually saw him standing in the doorway of our kitchen door when she was making sandwiches for my Dad to take to work.

She came rushing in to the living room to tell us what she had seen. All I can remember of what she said was that he had a ruffle round his neck.

I am a Reiki healer and when I am working I get Butterflys around me from my Nanny (Grand-mother) who helps me and protects me whenever I work in healing or majical matters. She also used to 'arrive' at the healing centre I trained in ahead of me arriving from where I lived in Sheffield ( 130 miles away) and would plaugue one colleague for three days in advance of my arrival with Butterflys all around her.

Butterflys have a particulr significance to my Nanny which I was unaware of till after I took the spiritual path I am now on. I got a message from a medium which resulted in my mother telling me about their significance.
In addition there have been times when I just sense people are there, also there have been 'scents' and sometimes I hear the voices of loved ones.
We all have our own varied signs/hints and no single way is right, pay attention to your reactions and you will soon know which signs meen what.

Whenever I work in the garden I get a little white butterfly flutter around and I have come to associate these as signs that my Dad is around and watching what I have been doing in his garden.

Whenever I see a robin I associate that with my Nan being around because she always loved robins.

I can't see either of these things without feeling my Dad and my Nan around me.

I remembered only once actually hearing the voice of my fiance after he had been killed on his motorbike. I had gone to take a rose to the crematorium, had walked a very long way in the rain and then found the doors locked. I was devastated and upset. I walked a few steps back as I retraced my steps to go home and I heard him say to me "we'll have to stop meeting like this". It actually made me laugh and was so unexpected. It certainly wasn't me because I was feeling far too miserable to even think of making jokes.

It showed me that I didn't have to go anywhere to be near him and that he knew what I was doing and where I was all the time.

Clouds. My brother, Ted ( Bear ) , shows himself to me as bear clouds and just knowing , if you will, answers . Butterflies, feathers and leaves are transmitters. Maybe too a serene sense of peace , just lets me know the spirits are with me and watching . Peace to all, namaste. MBW allow the howl
