I'm looking for a pat on the back!

Hey, we all need one now and then. I was feeling sorry for myself tonight and had just about talked myself out of going for a walk. I didn't feel good. I'm having bladder problems and have to get a bunch of tests done. I'm depressed (since my hubby died in June, depressed is my natural state), I didn't sleep very much last night, etc. So, I'm laying on the couch, deciding to just skip it today. Even as I was making that decision, I got up, put on my walking shoes, and took my dog out for a brisk 30 minute walk. For me, that was a real win!

I accidently posted this to SlimPickens, so you might see this twice.

You sure do deserve a pat on the back. You are an inspiration to me. I can't imagine how much strength you have to even be functioning.
I have 2 adult kids that are alcoholics. They are up and down all the time and it is hard to take. I thought that I was handling all their drama pretty well. But my body decided that I wasn't. I got shingles and they were so painful. I will have scars from them. I got over them about a month ago, but I just feel drained and tired all the time. But I understand that the tiredness can last for awhile.
If you can get up and walk I will too. Thanks for your post.....Blondie

That dog is a real gem in your life right now. He still needs to be fed, watered, and walked - and so you did it. You got off the couch and walked him/her. It's amazing how an animal can keep you grounded and on track and keep you going when you don't feel like it.

Here's a pat on the back for you and a pat on the head for your dog.

You hang in there. You have just taken a real blow with the loss of your husband. You are bound to feel the stress of that major life event. Walking that dog is the best thing you can do for yourself (and him) right now. The excercise will help get you out of your funk and I am sure the dog is missing him, too, so the walk will energize him as well. Consider yourself patted!

Consider yourself patted indeed. Your dog needs you as much as much as you need the dog. Something made you get up and go for the walk. Keep up the good work. Wish you lived closer, I would call you up to go for the walk. kathleen
