WIDOWHOOD HAPPENS
Welcome to Eons Book Gallery Authors Event! We are happy that you have joined us today!
I'm here — even though it's only 6:30 a.m. in Arizona, the state that pays no attention at all to Daylight Savings Time. It's dawn and I've already had my Cheerios.
I'm looking forward to your questions and comments. Maybe I'd better get a copy of WIDOWHOOD HAPPENS here just in case I have to look something up.
OK, we're all set. Questions or comments, please?

It might be a good time to read the daily paper. I don't think I'll have any other time to do it today.

Good morning, MarySuze. Congratulations on being Number One on my computer today!

Howdy LadyGene, nice to meet you here!
Does anyone here know of strange, unwanted things that people say to the bereaved, that should be left unsaid? For instance, in my book someone said to a young widow after the memorial service, "You had six years together. You have your memories." That hurt.

Oh, hello, Rose. How nice to hear from you. Can you answer the above question?

In my book I refrained from giving a lot of advice. I left it to the professionals whom I interviewed. This whole thing was a learning experience for me. My husband and I are both old, so we are trying to get everything in order, but age has nothing to do with it. There are young widows and widowers, who never expected to lose their spouses. Even with planning, there is such an emotional shock. It helps to take care of the mundane ahead of time while you're thinking clearly.
