Would you feel the same way if he was a Catholic? A Protestant? Are you in a tizzy only because he's a Muslim? What else do you know about him?

You have got to be kidding!!! That's what I get for not having a tv ... must have been busy that week. I just heard it. Sorry about that ... we're a bit behind times because we don't have a tv in our home now for a l-o-n-g time. Must have just passed over it. Too many other things on our mind ... like working hard to keep our home under our name! Doing dirty, dirty jobs and working 15 hours a day to work through these predicaments that our government can't get their heads together over.

It's called 'missed it', merli, ... lol, if I have been married for 40 years, and my hubbie loves to have me as his secretary because I work well with folks, and I can take care of folks problems and get those problems met quickly in our business, Plus keep them from becoming frustrated, I'm afraid I don't have your tizzy problems, punkin'! And Yeah, Merl, I do Not like the fact that they're in charge!

Nope Jeff, I just heard about it. I think that it was so "under-the-table" that it didn't hit the radio very loudly. Too much other stuff that hard working folks are having to watch out for ... like where will we get the money to keep our business alive, and how do we make a smaller than usual budget to keep everything paid for, a tad bit of grocery money, and a good night's sleep. PLUS a lot of prayer time!!!

When I first found this out today, the first thing that I thought of was our borders NOT getting tighter. That does NOT make many of us very happy!

By the way, merli, what do you know about him? Still ... it is how much we are slipping into leadership which is questionable!

Absolutely not! There are very few people, religious leaders or otherwise, who are able to reach the bar set by Jesus. I don't equate many Christians with the example set by Jesus so why would I equate Muslims with his example? I don't think the fact that he's a Muslim should automatically preclude him from holding an office within our government anymore than I think being an atheist, an agnostic or a pagan should. In my opinion, his qualifications for serving should be much broader than what religion he happens to practice. Silly, I know, but my opinion nonetheless.

Well, I was aware of the appointment and apparently it wasn't THAT big a secret since it's all over the Internet. In fact, I think I remember it being posted about right here on Eons around the time it happened.
