Hello greatbatch,
I just looked at your Etsy shop and your work is very impressive! Although I don't do the chainmaille work, it looks great with gemstones! My daughter and I have had shops on Etsy for the past 2 years (almost) and it is great fun! We both make beaded jewelry using seedbeads and Czech glass beads, as well as gemstones - her shop is www.moonlilydesigns.Etsy.com and my shop is www.nardiesarttowear.Etsy.com. Please fwd our Etsy shop links to anyone you know who likes beaded jewelry in original and unique designs, with an affordable price tag.
Happy beading!

Took a look at "your shop." Lovely pieces; and I especially like your use of beads and colors. Hope to start an Etsy shop of my own one day. Good luck with your Etsy shop, and (as Goldy65 says) Happy Beading.....

Haven't had a chance to check it out... but I will later... love the post and all the great reply's..
See Ya!
Guess what.. a friend came over yesterday.. and she mentioned "Etsy".. she bought some things .. See Ya!
Hello again - Etsy is becoming quite a huge online place to buy all things handmade - everything from A to Z is there! And it is such fun to "explore" those shops and see what all they make - it runs the gamut from artwork to jewelry to knit and crochet items, as well as those who offer supplies for making just about anything. I am always amazed and impressed each time I explore Etsy shops - I'd recommend it to anyone who makes jewelry or any specialty item - and it's also a great place to shop for special gifts. It costs nothing to join - you just register with a password and you can look around Etsy to your heart's content. If you decide to open up a shop, it costs just $.20 to list each item and they stay in your shop for 4 months or until sold. When something sells, Etsy charges 3.5% of the sale. I personally use Paypal for everything and it works great. Well enough on the sales pitch for Etsy - but as for me, I love it!
Happy Beading!

Lynn, I agree 100%. Lots of educational tools too for promoting your shop and forums and chat rooms - a real community. I've even been in the "shop critique" virtual lab. Astounding! It's mind boggling that there are 170,000 shops on Etsy - why shop anywhere else? I've barely scratched the surface in my poking around - I do know there are some gorgeous hand-made soaps which I plan to buy. It's an exciting place to be!!!

Barb -
I know I have not scratched the surface of Etsy yet, and I've had a shop for 2 years now. I'd say probably the only drawback on there is so many making the same type things, although we all have our unique and individual ways. For me (being fully retired) my Etsy shop gives me a little part-time job that I can do from home, sitting in my nitegown. It gives me something to look forward to, and I love it when I make a sale and someone is happy with their purchase - it gives me great satisfaction! I can't believe the variety of shop owners on Etsy and the unique products they offer! I've got my eye on some fabulous crochet work!
Happy beading!
