Mine are still outside. They are under an overhang unless the wind is just right they don't get too wet. We are expecting more rain over the next few days. I will keep an eye on them.
Mine are under a tree that unless it rains really hard, they just get damp but it's been raining really hard for days. You'd think it was monsoon weather!

One of the orchid experts mentioned the late summer rains as being especially troublesome for cats -- too much rain and moisture encourages dreaded black rot. He recommends letting them dry "hard" at least twice during August -- to cut back on watering. Water thoroughly, then let them go bone dry before the next watering.
His newsletter is written for South Florida where monsoon season sets in late summer, but his recommendation seems to apply to anyplace where it is hot and humid. Letting cats dry hard and feeding with epsom salts, he recommends at least twice, also encourages blooming. And who is opposed to that?!
Well they are inside now and will follow those directions. I might stick them back out if we ever get out of monsoon weather.

mine were floatin too...didnt seem to bother them any...
Mine didn't seem to mind so far but I've read that they like to dry out so I'm keeping them in for a while. Not going to take any chances. By this time, it's usually quit raining. Should be dry now through Sept. but who knows, it's been a crazy summer.

We have had only daily or bi weekly bouts of rain, with much cooling and air movement in between. Not really a problem. Most of my Catts are in the greenhouse, so they are protected from direct sun and rain. Do mist them daily though. In fact I just had one bloom that hasn't been bloomed in 3 years. I posted a photo somewhere. It is a blue... orchid.
There are no truly blue orchids, but it has a faint bluish color that is in this clone.
