Hello

Hello everyone! My main interest of study is igneous and metamorphic petrology. I do, however, have a thing for Paleozoic fossils, which there are plenty of here in Indiana where I currently live. I'm originally from Chicago and attended the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) where I earned a B.A. in Philosophy. But, while an undergraduate at UIC, I did receive a good deal of formal training in geology and even considered declaring it as a second major for awhile. I still go out into the field, and here I am whacking away at a limestone boulder to get a look at what's beneath the weather surface. This trip was about a month ago and we found plenty of fossils from the Silurian and Devonian periods--one of which I have posted in the photo section. I look forward to interacting with other people in the group and learning of their finds.
