Posting a picture

Most of us love pictures and sharing them is half the fun. There are several ways to post pictures on Eons.

One way is to upload a picture from your computer into your Photo Center. Every member can save up to 100MB of space each month, so there's plenty of room for most of us.

Please go to the first reply to see the steps for uploading and saving a pic to your photo center:

1. To go to your photo center, move your mouse over the Profile tab near the top of the page. Once you do, a drop-down menu will appear.
2. Click on the Photo Center link.

Once you get to your photo center, there are several things you can do, organize your photos, create additional albums or add photos. For now, we'll add a photo:

3. Click on the blue Add photos link.
4. You'll be taken to a new page, Add Photos to my profile, here you can create an album for your profile or use the default. Use the arrow to the right of the white box to create or change the album.
5. If you want to use the default, click the green continue button.
6. Now you arrive at a new page, where you can upload photos from your computer or from Photobucket. (If you want to use Photobucket, go to the next reply.)

Click on the white box, Choose photos to upload and you can browse through your saved photos on your computer.
8. Once you choose a pic, double-click to upload. This might take a few seconds.
9. When the upload is finished, a mini version of your pic will appear on the Eons page. You can add a title to the pic or click the blue "skip this step" to return to your photo center.

If you would like to use one of your photos in a pm or post, follow these steps:
1. From your photo center, choose it by clicking on the picture.
2. Click on the Advanced sharing options, this will show you HTML codes for your picture.
3. Click in the first white box to hi-light the Embed code, then right click and select copy.
4. Now go to the message or post, (the easiest way to do this is to open a second Eons window).
5. Click to position your cursor in the message or post, right click and select Paste.

When you paste, the embed code will show in the new window, after you press preview or post, it changes to the picture.

Here are some instructions for using Photobucket.

Photobucket www.photobucket.com, is a image hosting site. They have free and pro accounts. Using this site not only saves the memory on your hard drive; but it helps keep your pictures organized, provides direct links to your pictures and provides you with the HTML code.

1. Set-up your account with Photobucket. It's very easy to do this and then you are ready to go. You can upload your own pictures or browse the site for pictures you like.

2. I always recommend having Photobucket open in a new tab to make copying & pasting as easy as possible.

3. Once you have chosen a picture, click on it. If the picture is in your album*, there will be a box to the left of the picture called Share this image. Move your mouse to the HTML code & click in the box with the code. After you click, it should say copied.

4. Now return to your Eons tab & left click in the area where you wish to attach the picture. Then right click & paste. (If paste is grayed out, go back & copy the pic again)

5. Once you paste, you will see code just like you did when posting a graphic. This code will be converted to the pic when you click on preview or post.

*If this pic is not in your album, I recommend copying it to your album before using it.
a. To copy a pic move your mouse to just above the pic. When you do this some options will appear, click on copy to my album. A pop-up window will appear, you can choose an album & save the pic.
b. Once saved, you have the option to view the pic in your album. At this point to copy & paste follow the steps above.
