About the discussion group for Sept, "1984", when is it and how can I participate. I remember reading it in high school. Looking forward to the reread and the discussion.
Horsesfly2 and our other "newbies", here's how the monthly discussions for the group reads work.. On the second Saturday of each month there will be a thread started, usually by me or one of the moderators, titled Discuss/Talk About (whatever the book is). They we all just post our thoughts about the book, any questions, respond to others in the thread, just like we do about any other book here. The thread will be sticky, meaning it will stay at the top where it's easy to find, for several days. And that's pretty much it. :D
Barb,
I'll be starting 1984 today. I got the large print anniversary addition.
I also just got through reading "The Street Lawyer" by John Grisham. This book a very good theme in that greed in a person can be changed with the right inducement. I'll also be reading the biography on Thomas Merton, "The Seven Story Mountain", this month.
Jim
Good deal, Jim! I'll be looking forward to your thoughts real soon. :D
Hello, I am new with the group. I am looking forward to join you for the discussion of "Wicked Prey". I like very much the selections chosen for this year's readings.
