Upcoming Patch

How does everyone feel about the upcoming patch?

I like all the changes except one... the cheaper mounts seems like I wasted all that money I spent on them. Of course in one case a main of mine that wasted a bunch of money on buying a guild and 2 tabs and buying ore to catch up my BS skill, can't afford the 100% land mount. So maybe I will after the patch. But other than that I have some toons that recently made 30 before the announcement and they've already bought their new mounts. I want a refund. Also now the mounts will be for anyone 20+ level. So no more exploring the landscape and fighting off mobs. Just rush by in your mount. I'm not sure who they're catering to here... little kids with no patience?

I think you're exactly right. Last night I was in Silvermoon City and it was littered with little level 20s on Hawkstriders. I remember how thrilling it was to get my paladin horse at lvl 30. I felt like I earned it. But on the flip side, flying at lvl 60 will make Outland leveling less painful. I don't know about you, but I'm a little annoyed by the "deranged boars" that always seem to appear out of nowhere. LOL

ok guys I'm rather new.. since Feb. this yr. and at 39 and 1/2 and wanted to get my mount.. I've bought a horse how and where do I go to learn to ride? What is a patch?

A patch is an update and/or change to the WoW game. You download them when you log on. It's what Blizzard does to fix bugs and change aspects of the game. In the latest patch (3.2) they made the riding skill available at lvl 20 down from lvl 30. You can now get your fast land mount at lvl 40 down from lvl 60. You'll be able to train for and obtain your first flying mount at level 60 when you get to Outland. Just start saving your gold now :-) It will set you back 600 or 700 shiny coins.

I have a feeling that all this is in preparation for the upcoming expansion pack. They mentioned flying mounts in Azeroth so I'm sure this fits into those plans.
