Where is everyone???

This is the quietest this group has ever been. Is everyone having too busy a summer to watch the show? If so, you are missing some really brilliant dancing! This season, it really seems hard for me to pin down one person I think is the favorite. They are really a talented bunch of dancers!

I think Randy and Evan may be in trouble tonight, and I hate that but I really liked the others more, I guess. They are both so good and really cute together, but I'm not seeing the same spar I did in auditions.

Really loving the choreography this year...some new faces and some older ones back.
Some of the dancers are way out of their element and still seem to be rising to the occasion. Loving it!!!

I always watch DWTS's but just couldn't get interested in SYTYCD.

I'm watching. A really entertaining season, but then all of the seasons have been great. I think Randy and Evan will be OK It will be interesting to see all the new pairings next week with the top 10. I think Brandon's partner might be in trouble without him.

i am watching but have not been able to figure out a fav like i have in past seasons. Last season I so enjoyed Twitch and others, I was a fan of Benji's from the beginning, and was happy to see when Hok actually got on the show. No one this season has grabbed my interest yet, but i must say that Mary Murphey and her screaming has gotten completely out of control.

We seem to go through a flurry of activity from Wednesday through Thursday night, then get quiet again until the show airs the next week.

Based on what I saw last night, I think Philip and his partner are in trouble. The choreographer of the Russian "folk dance" didn't really give them much to work with. I've seen professional groups from Russia, and that type of dancing CAN be really exciting, but the dance last night was a mess. (Here's a pretty good example: view link It was clearly shot by an amateur, but it shows most of the elements they were trying to do last night ....) It's not really the dancers' fault, but I suspect it may hurt them, UNLESS Philip's fans really outdid themselves voting.

I also think Evan and Randi could be in trouble, not because they've done anything particularly *wrong*, but because they're kind of forgettable. Also, Nigel keeps ragging on Evan week after week, and I can kind of see what he's getting at (Evan often isn't as "sharp" as he needs to be).

High point of the evening for me was the Brandon/Janette Argentine Tango. Holy cow!! That could easily have been a professional BR couple up there. Brandon's focus was amazing -- I didn't see him drop character even for a split second. He may emerge as my "favorite" during top 10, assuming he makes it through this week (and I can't imagine him NOT making it).

I watch it every week and I yet have a favorite either. It's been pretty good and so unpreditable, you just never know who should and who shouldn't. I do understand what you're saying because it is a quiet group and you hear nothing unitil the night of the show and then the result night. What can you suggest to make it better or more livelier.

I just watched SYTYCD sporadically. I was surprised that the girl that looked & danced a lot like Cheryl on DWTS was voted off. I was very impressed with her the times I did watch. And although the girl that won was good, I figured Brandon would win. But I'm so ready for DWTS to return!!

And book...I'm so with you about Mary's screaming & carrying on. That's one reason I can't watch it more often. She gets on my nerves with that shrieking & screaming. I don't care how good of a judge she is - she needs to bring that crap down several notches!

IMHO, I don't think SYTYCD is worth turning on the TV for, so haven't visited this site since Brooke and Derek won the Ball. Looking forward to seeing what the new season brings.

TooYoung2BeOld, you should do what my sister does when it is Mary's turn to speak, she puts her on Mute.

I love both shows. Watching young unknown talent go for their dream on SYTYCD is incredible. To watch celebrites do something out of their comfort zone is amazing. But if a celebrity acts like Master P did in Season 2, I lose all respect for that person. Even though he pitched in because his son was injured, I respect him for that, but when you refuse to do what you are asked to do because of your PRIDE, that is stupidity. He looked ridiculous out there in his tennis shoes, he was not smooth at all.

I am looking forward to this new season of DWTS, but what was the producers thinking of picking some of these celebrities. Kelly Ripa has been asking to do the show for a couple of years now, why hasn't she been asked to do it. Why pick Delfry or whatever his name is. Donnie is only doing it to show the world that he is better than his sister while he is out there making a fool of himself. I am surprised they did not ask Chris Brown to do it to get back the fans he lost when he beat up Rihanna.
