The grandchildren are sleeping.........
7/8/9.....in the morning coolness. The birds sing everywhere outside. The hollyhocks I planted for Teri so long ago bloom all over the property, and the Elm trees cast their cooling shade all day long now. The big one in the rock garden now forty feet tall, I remember it was a three feet tall shoot when I first decided to put protective wire around it twenty years ago.
............At the ground near it's trunk is the little cross Ryan's great uncle made from second hand pallet wood and engraved "To Our Beloved Teri Dalene CarrothersJohnson" on it. The rocks all over the garden have developed from forty years of collecting rocks by myself, and then together with my Teri, my children, and now my grandchildren.
............Many days of life and dreams have passed here, and some we love have passed away too. Among many troubles and trials, life still goes on, and the dreams are not over or finished yet.
............The grandchildren are waking, and a new day begins. It is going to be very hot today, I think we will go down to the river to splash and play.......
............The grandchildren are tired after an hour or so of playing in the clear slow moving tepid waters of the Carson, passing under the highway 95A , and a half mile downstream from Buckland Station all retored. We all enjoyed a good day.....
