To clear up any confusion.
The Hobbit may be in pre-production at this moment with Del Toro as the director and Jackson as the producer. It has already been announced that there will be another movie - tentatively being called a second Hobbit movie - and that it will fill in between the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. In Early Conceptual Design Phase
The Hobbit and its companion movie will be shot on location in NZ utilizing the expertise of Weta Workshop and Weta Digital.
Peter Jackson is the Executive Producer. The Director is Guillermo del Toro. Peter and Guillermo are also writing the screenplay together with Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens.
The two films are planned to premiere in 2011 and 2012 respectively.
