I am so sorry muffet, it is so hard to make the decision to let our dear friends rest. God gives us these precious friends to love and care for and it seems like the time is always so short. It is good that the memories of Willie and Booser will give you comfort knowing that Willie will be after Booser's ears again at the Bridge and they will be resting side by side. I hope you find peace and comfort soon. Elly
It's a very hard thing to do but, only you as his mommy know what is best for him. Take comfort that you have had this extra time with him since his illness started. Your other kitties will look for him and wonder where he is, but let them be together for now and cuddle, they probably already know and understand that their friend is very sick and won't be around for long. animals know this.
Give Willie and your other kitties a big hug from me.
so sorry muffet. It is very hard to do what is best for the animal. We love them so we don't want them to suffer. My prayers are with you. HUGS
Before you do this please read the Whole Dog Diet. It is written by Andi Brown and contains many cases of cats with kidney and other health issues whose health was dramatically improved by following the suggested changes in diet. Your cat may not be cured, but could experience enough improvement to have a longer better quality life.
Thank you all for your messages. I know that Willie and Booser will be happy to be together again. And I thank you collieflower for your suggestion however Willie is 18 years old now. I have made changes to his diet based on recommendations of the vet along with the medication. The decision I made was very hard and I don't think that I could cancel the appointment on the hopes that he might have a few more good months and then have to face making the decision again.
I checked out Willie's photo - a beautiful kitty! God Bless!! You have made the right decision, but I know how painful it is. There will be no more pain, and Willie will be alive in spirit, still hanging around with you and your other kitties. He will know how deeply you love him, and letting him go, is the greatwst love of all.

You and Willie are in my prayers. I know how hard that decision is to make, we just had to put our Beloved Mack down in November. You know in your heart if you are making the right decision. As much as we want to keep our furry family with us, we have to remember how important the quality of that life is.
My thoughts are with you. Several years ago, my beloved cat, Merlin, had kidney disease and I had to make the same decision, so I know exactly what you're going through. Yes, you are making the right decision, but it's so hard to let them go. Peace be with you and Willie.
Once our loved animals get to a certain stage of illness, the kindest thing to do it to let them go. I've been there, twice this year, and know you're doing the right thing even though it's a hard thing to do.
I want to thank everyone for their kind messages and the support that you are all giving me with this difficult decision. My heart tells me that this is the right thing to do for him so that he will not have to suffer anymore. It has been hard watching him lose weight - down to about 7 pounds from 15 in the last several months. My prayers are with all of you that have lost a furfriend over the years.
