Today we smiled...

Message 180 of 6045

Our family gathered today with brats and beer, potato salad, baked beans, chips, watermelon, cake and cookies and lots and lots of soda pop. We used paper plates and plastic 'silverware'. We didn't clean the house or dress up a single bit. We played crocquet and bocce ball, lit firecrackers, and watched the grandkids play touch football. Best of all we laughed and retold the family stories. We missed Mom and talked about how much she would have enjoyed this day.

Let the healing begin...

It sounds like a wonderful day Sharon. I'm so happy for your family realizing life goes on and we still love the missing ones, but you have to treasure what you have. I bet you are going to need to just lay around and rest for awhile. You've had lots of work and stress for months now. Take care dear friend. Linda
