Grills....Gas or Charcoal?
Which do you prefer? Are you comfortable grilling for one?
Well, since one charcoal grilled steak has the same carcinogens as about 700 cigarettes (depends on what source you look up) I prefer gas. My pancreas is compromised, so I can't have anything that may cause cancer - as we all know that pancreatic cancer is fatal. (or maybe you don't) I used to grill on charcoal because I loved the taste. Now I marinade with anything that has smoke flavoring in it.

Sorry - I didn't mean to leave such a bummer of a response... You all should know that it's not good for you but how else do you get that great charcoal-grilled taste? I used to grill out in the Winter and I live in Wisconsin! It killed me to stop using charcoal! Well, actually the opposite is true! lol Still, I think in strict moderation it isn't that bad for you- and they are saying that chicken is better than steak, and by marinading the meat, you can reduce the carcinogens by up to 80%!
My neighbor who is in her 80's, put her gas grill out by the road with a "FREE" sign on it!! We are talking a large, Sunbeam model with a side burner and 2 lift up redwood trays. Practically brand new! So I mosey-ed on over and asked her what she was getting rid of it for (thinking that there might be something wrong with a switch or something) She said "It was a gift - it's just too big for just me!" So, I tried to talk her out of giving it away but she said "If you want it, take it! Just bring me some grilled corn if you ever have any" So now, I have my first gas grill. I gave my Weber Kettle grill and my Smokey Joe away a few years ago and I guess we've just been doing without or we waited until we were invited to someone elses' cook out! lol

I have a gas grill but if I go way from the house I use charcoal. Went I was a kid all there was charcoal grills I think that why I like charcoal better.
