Looks like we have a real sound and light show scheduled for tonight, thunderstorms... but hopefully the rest of the country will have a perfect night for the festivities.

We canoed all day in the rain yesterday (4th) It never stopped raining but we still had fun. We expected to get wet, but it was a little cold without any sun.

Canoeing is one thing that rain usually doesn't ruin. The only time I've gotten off of the river is during thunderstorms, they aren't real fun on the water but otherwise, I'm usually wet anyway. We might as well enjoy the cooler weather, it's suppose to heat back up this coming week.

Other than a few friends, now my kids are living back in Missouri but that's the main thing I miss about MO. is the canoeing. Spring fed rivers, even in the heat of summer, they are still very full and exciting. Don't guess I'll get the opportunity to enjoy that again...but we can always have our memories. About the only good ones I have of being with my ex.
