FYI
Sirius XM satellite radio will rebroadcast the 30th Blues Music Awards on the 4th of July. What better way to spend Independence Day than listening to America's indigneous music--the Blues. Tune in to B.B. King's Bluesville on Channel 74 to hear what has been widely-acclaimed at the best ever Blues Music Awards show. The show will begin at 1:00pm on the east side of town and 4:00pm on the west side of town. That means 2:00pm on Beale Street and the Crossroads and 3:00 pm in Telluride and Trinidaddio. The broadcast will be approximately 5 hours of music!
The show will be music only featuring the performances of more than three dozen nominees. You will especially want to hear Koko Taylor's last performance of Wang Dang Doodle with the Mannish Boys. Other one-of-a-kind performances include: Maria Muldaur and Taj Mahal, B.B. King with Curtis Salgado, Marcia Ball and Elvin Bishop, Gaye Adegbalola and Jason Ricci, and many many more. The Bluesville broadcast is the next best thing to being there--at least until the 30th Blues Music Awards DVD comes out later this year. Joe Whitmer and Rafe Murray are working furiously to edit it and get it to you earlier than ever.
