Checking in on the Economy

When he first introduced his " economic stimulus " boondoggle , BO told us that it was necessary in order to keep unemployment under 8% during 2009 .

We are now half way through 2009 and the official unemployment rate is 9.5 % and rising . Keep in mind that the 9.5% figure is completely bogus and does not take into account the millions of people who have had to take jobs which pay maybe half of what they were earning before or are working part-time because that is all they can get , or who have dropped off the unemployment rolls because they have been unemployed for so long that their benefits have run out and they have given up looking .It also understates the true number because our government with a stroke of the pen adds a couple of hundred thousand jobs to the number each month with it totally BS " birth-death adjustment " which is still telling us that thousands of jobs are being created every month in construction , restaurants , and retail . YEAH , RIGHT ! If we counted the unemployed now the same way that we did during the Great Deprssion , meaning 1,2,3,4,5,6,7, etc , instead of 1,2,3,4,5, subtract 4,2 3 etc, the way we do now , our unemployment figures would be more than 15 % and would be very close to the percentages in the early 1930's . My question is , does anyone still believe that this BS plan is working ? Or do you think that without the great BO boondoggle that unemployment might actually be 150% or 200% . Don't laugh , our government is perfectly capable of presenting such impossible numbers and expecting the gullible to believe them , IF IT SUITS THEIR PURPOSES . So far they prefer to keep their lies to the low side of reality .

no politician will actually do what ti takes to create jobs

no politician will actually do what it takes to jump start the economy

I thought I heard on CNN that the unemployment was 10.5 percent but I probably was not paying close attention

Back when I was a child I wanted Christmas to hurry up and get here. I wanted three O'Clock to hurry so I could get out of school and go play. And when I met my first wife I wanted to screw her right then and there. Since then I have learned something called ( Patients ). I learned that problems take time to work through. That when you hurry through a problem you tend to make it worse. Now my understanding is that it took years for this economy to get to where it is today. So I don't expect it to get better in 5 months ( which is actually the length of time Obama's policies have been in effect ). I don't have a crystal ball that tells me what the future will be in six months to a year. Now past presidents have had four and eight years to push their policies. Why is this president treated different? If this president is meant to fail then he will, and people like me will have earned the labels. I for one am willing to take that chance.

" My question is , does anyone still believe that this BS plan is working ? ". YES! I do. If I'm wrong I will own up to it.

I'm with you Charles, you make an excellent point, afterall, we gave Bush eight years to screw this up, I wouldn't expect Jesus Christ to fix in five months!

"In January, when the Obama team began presenting their pitch for the stimulus plan, they denied an overly rosy scenario. But the chart then-President-elect Obama’s economic team provided to the public indicates that the unemployment rate, which is currently 9.4%, is higher than the Obama team forecast it would be even if the stimulus plan had not become law.

Back then Council of Economic Advisers chair Christine Romer predicted that with the stimulus bill, the unemployment rate right now would be under 8%. Without the $787 billion stimulus package, Romer predicted an unemployment rate of just over 8%.

It is a fact that George Bush is not responsible for what Obama and regime say publicly.

So are they incompetent or just liars?

The right is having a lot of fun commenting about the economic forecast by the Obama team being too optimistic.
I guess they are right, Obama along with everyone else has massively underestimated the damage Team Bush did to our economy.

Aren't they the same ones who gave us Sarah Palin and Mark Sanford? I guess that makes them experts.

I believe it would be more accurate Charles , to say that the BO team either far over-estimated how much good their BS plan would do for the economy , or just flat-out lied about it in order to push their agenda .I by no means give Bushcheney a pass on this , they fucked us all to a fare-thee-well , but that was then , and this is now . From everything that I read , the economic situation is continuing to get worse and BO is fighting a house fire by spraying it with gasoline . The very same fools who helped to create this mess under Bushcheney are BO's principal economic policy makers . Do you believe that the election of BO somehow magically changed them from ignorant toads into wise and handsome princes ?
