I apologize

to those who like Michael Jackson, but I am soooo sick and tired of all this coverage and crap and who gets kids and who doesn't....talk of his billions of dollars of wealth, the costs to have the Staples Arena idol worship, and swallow hard knowing THOUSANDS of young kids will go hungry today, like yesterday and again tomorrow...makes me want to vomit....America's values have certainly gone down the crapper

Erm...Aaaaaa Michael is dead and the family has no control over the media. Seems to me the blame is falling on the wrong people. They still make TV's with on off buttons? There is all sorts of programs that I choose not to watch. The media blitzes about Micheal I choose not to watch because it's mostly the same stuff over and over again. But the common denominator here is ( choice ). Those who choose to be inundated with this coverage have that right. Those who don't have a ( remote ).

Charles, out of necessity we need other information which comes on the tv or newspapers....I refuse to become isolated from every day life because some freak dies....talented or not, was still a freak...amazing how Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, Billy Mays, all were treated with dignity and respect and love....MJ is curiousity. like people who screw up traffic looking at a bad accident, and then back to breaking the speed limits cause it wasn't them...I remember when JFK was murdered...it was pretty much over in a week....and he was PRESIDENT.........there was residual things but for the main part it was over....and I know my tv has a few buttons, to turn it off, to change channels, to mute the sound....but why should I have to do it because of the greed of the media trying to outdo each other ? And even here....so I expressed my disinterest in his death, my disgust with the media orgy being held and will be greatly relieved when the whole circus is over...except we will now have a two week rememberence, a one month anniversay, a two month and so on until the magazines DON'T sell...one example which sets me off....a young lady who shall remain nameless cause I can't stand her name, was kidnapped here in Salt Lake, probably ten years ago..she was missing for several months. She was ultimately located and returned home...from that day to this her father, a community leader, has made certain we go no more than 90 days without him and/or her being on television, or in the paper or on the radio with a new interview...and in between the looney tune who kidnapped her is in the newspapers with his insane displays in the courtroom...we shall never hear the end of her or her egomaniacal father who, I imagine has made a ton of money from her kidnapping....and subsequent stories and paid articles...so all in all I guess I have to recognize and accept that assholes will always be shoved in our faces...

I was never a big fan of MJ to begin with...and this isn't going to drive me any closer.... Never was really into hype, which is all the media is willing to serve us lately. I will state that grieving for a loved one is tough to go through, but I don't get how people can be that distraught over someone they ultimately didn't know.

It's seems almost blasphemous to point out less-than-glamorous things in his lifestyle now, although they still did occur.

I just don't get it

It is wrong to worship anyone like this. I feel bad for Michael he was a lost and lonely person. It could serve as a lesson, as others before him should. Money and fame do not buy peace of mind, nor happiness. Why do so many strive for it? I hope he is at peace now.
He was an incredible talent but it was not enough for him.........such a shame. Such a waste. Wait for the movie.

The money-that is whats gonna keep it going-everybody is going to come out of the woodwork to get the money.

And the kids-outside of his mother-they just want the kids to get the money-and I think that goes for Joe Jackson too.

To be a good TV commentator-you have to be able to take 2 minutes worth of info-and make 2 hours of TV time out of it.

Too much media?....too little "news"?....or are they just lazy? Go for the gravy...leave the meaty stories at the bottom of the pan...

Over a million tickets (tickets?) were issued for Jackson's memorial service. Many are now up for scalping sales for $800 to $1,000 each. All for a dead celebrity? When did he pull the nation out of the jaws of death? No one was issued tickets for a service for Omar Bradley, or Dwight Eisenhower.
Maybe they should have moonwalked more, and defended the nation less. Then we would all know how to moonwalk as we dig potatoes and salute the Great Beneficent Leader.
