She Lost Innocence

She Lost Innocence

As a little girl of eight years her mother and father divorced. It was a heartbreak for her to endure and her father didn't pay much attention to her and her mother worked many hours as an accountant. Her mom met a man who she married when this little girl was almost 12 years old. Shortly after, her stepfather began to sexually abuse her. He abused her for 4 years and the abuse became more and more agressive. He told her if she told he would kill her parents and grandparents and showed her a gun. So to protect her loved ones she endured the abuse. Finally when she was 16 she was telling a girl at school what was happening to her. The classmate encouraged her to go to the school nurse and report it. This she did and the nurse called the police. The police then called the girls' mother at work. Her mother came to the school and didn't hesitated a minute in believing her daughter. Her mother went home and got clothes for herself and her daughter and took them to safety. Then the mother changed the locks on her home so the stepfather could not enter the home again.
About 5 months later the police had enough evidence against the stepfather to arrest him He was offered a plea bargain to plead guilty, but he refused, thinking that the young girl would not be strong enough to face him in court.
It was almost a year before the case went to court and the girl was older and stronger and was able to testify against this man. He was found guilty on 13 counts of child abuse and endangerment and the judge gave him 127 years in prison with no parole possible. Today that young lady is almost 23 and has been able to put this behind her (pretty much) and is a fine young lady. I am so proud of her, because she is my grand daughter.

Thank God she had the courage to tell a friend who knew what to do next. Thank you Jesus.

I am so thankful for the girl helping my granddaughter at that time. When God is on your side who can come against you. And God was on the side of my g/d and my family.
