YEA !!!!! i've been validated as a non-elitist. what a relief.

Darn blue-nosed non-elitists. Always thinkin' they're better than those who think they're better than they are.

Nothing worse than someone who tries to out-humble you.

Reminds me of the Sneetches. "The Star-Bell Sneetches had bellies with stars. The Plain-Belly Sneetches had none upon thars. Those stars weren’t so big. They were really so small. You might think such a thing wouldn’t matter at all.

But, because they had stars, all the Star-Belly Sneetches would brag, “We’re the best kind of Sneetch on the beaches.” With their snoots in the air, they would sniff and they’d snort “We’ll have nothing to do with the Plain-Belly sort!” And, whenever they met some, when they were out walking, They’d hike right on past them without even talking."

I had to go check Wikipedia. I never heard of sneetches. Evidently, according to Dr. Seuss they are creatures that live on beaches.

The Sneetches was one of Dr. Seuss' classics, all of which are enjoyable reading for people of all ages. Most of the stories have important morals. With the Sneetches, the absence of a star is the basis for discrimination. Sneetches who have stars on their bellies are part of the "in crowd", while Sneetches without stars are shunned and consequently mopey. It all becomes quite complicated but in the end, the Sneetches learn from experience that neither plain-belly nor star-belly Sneetches are superior, and they are able to get along and become friends.

And, by the way, did anyone read JerryMerry's profile? Having survived 10 years on Wall Street, no wonder she is hard nosed.

eecgeorgia, I doubt that JM is wandering about being pissed off at overweight American women; she doesn't even live in the U.S. I think she just felt like insulting a group of people, and she chose overweight (in her opinion) women to insult. Maybe she's just a bitter and miserable old lady and wants to visit her misery on somebody else.

Michibilly says,
. . . . Maybe she's just a bitter and miserable old lady and wants to visit her misery on somebody else.

Or maybe she just likes to make stuff up about people to make herself feel better about being who she is.
