Is this the change you wanted?

Coming up on six months now and I'm beginning to wonder if all you folks who voted for change are satisfied with...

The government take over of the banks
The government take over of GM
Cap and trade...pushed through without them getting a chance to really read it
The ever increasing unemployment numbers

We waited for two years for Congress to do something, now they are, but they aren't studying the bills they pass before they pass them

I haven't seen much in the form of stimulus, have you?

You're right about zero population growth -- I was just making a smart ass comment. It's interesting that only a small group of people even subscribed to the concept, and we see large populations of certain people getting larger and larger by the second.

RE: ZPG, Mike maybe we had all better hope that the younger population does grow:
From "The Economist"
view link
"At present, the developed countries on average have about four people of working age for every person over 65. But by 2050 this will have come down to only two workers for every pensioner.

America will come off best, with a ratio of about two-and-a-half, because its population will remain relatively youthful. Britain will also do better than average, and France only slightly worse. But in Japan and Italy there will be only one-and-a-half workers for every pensioner. That will impose an unbearable burden. Pensions will have to become less generous, and most people will have to keep on working well beyond 65."

More and more reason to be leery of the pronouncements, of only treatments that statistically show optimal outcomes, or make people healthier should be considered. Once you stop working to support the "Government", what use are you? Why bother treating you? Maybe we can just say that we now have universal Healthcare, but won't treat those who are inconsiderate enough to live past the average statistical age, after all we are all terminal from the moment we are born.

ZPG only works if everyone participates, which apparently isn't the case. Maybe a government controlled healthcare system would force ZPG, maybe not. Depends on who is in power and what group is growing the fastest.
