as for the congress..well that are as lame, stupid and as dumb as.....well I don't want to name anything for fear of offending .....they are the true mess....if they could all be fired at once, I would say, go for it
I'm not sure what you think was so horrible about what he inherited but I know 8 months ago I felt safer in my own country. The economy was only beginning to show signs of a downturn. We didn't have a huge government bureaucracy to look over our shoulders at every possible thing we do. I felt less like a Big Brother was watching me. I felt that we had over spent but not to the point we could never pay it all back or balance the budget at some point. I felt I had a leader who loved this country and was not afraid to say so. I did not have a leader who would turn over the once a decade census to people who may, and most likely will, use the information in ways it was never intended to be used. I didn't have a president who would go around the world apologizing for our country but never mentioning the fact that we are always the first responders in any world catastrophe or how much help with money, goods, and people we have sent to help the poorest countries on the planet. I didn't have a government that would take over private business and banks and then blackmail them to do the governments bidding on how they should be run. I could go on and on but I think you might get the message from this small accounting!
He may have had to walk five miles out of the forest but he kept going and took us all right down the river!
did I move? I think I still live in America the land of freedom of speech? you are welcome to yours cat and I am welcome to mine....is that correct...or am I in Iran now? Just asking
Oh please, spare me. All the people who felt so warm and fuzzy and safe under the Bush administration must have forgot to go to the polls. Otherwise the Republicans wouldn't have gotten tossed out of Congress on their ears, giving the Democrats overwhelming majorities in the House, the Senate and the Presidency. Now they use what little power they do have to slow the legislative process down to a pace just slightly faster than a disabled slug. The ones who aren't jumping off a sinking ship (see Sarah Palin) are finding they can't stand up to the pressures they put on themselves by fighting Obama's stimulus plan and crying like banshees while doing it. (Mark Sanford ring a bell?)Fact is, less than 6% of the stimulus monies have been spent so far, thanks to governors like Sanford and Jindal, who would rather make a political statement than look out for the people of their own states.
The banks are paying back their bailout funds at a pretty good pace, and who in their right minds would give out that kind of money without having some oversight as to how a failing business is run. Chrysler is already coming out of bankruptcy and from what I hear, with the streamlining of GM almost complete, they will be healthy again soon. Unemployment is still on the rise, but we all expected that to happen, Wall Street has stabilized to some degree, we are standing down in Iraq and Obama's polls are still good. The naysayers, it seems, are still a minority, they just don't realize it because they are screaming so loud. The Tea Party fad has run it's course and most of the people who went to them are now glued to the TV day in and day out intently waiting to hear the next tidbit of Michael Jackson news.
Each day brings a new revelation about Republican malfeasance or another one abandons ship. It would seem that instead of worrying so much about what Obama is doing, the Republicans should get busy bailing out a fast sinking ship, and trust me, Rush ain't gonna help you.
Pamela when did I say you did not have a right to freedom of speech? Just as you have the right, so do I. I only countered what you said. How is that binding you from saying your piece??? Am I in an alternate universe myself, where if you speak your mind and it is counter to what someone believes they believe you have taken away their freedom?? I really don't know what your talking about Pamela maybe you need to make it clearer!!!
you make a valid point cat...not up to a lot of typing today but Thomas speaks for me
Oh merlin, what a shame you have to log in as your brother to make your typical comeback.
Not to say that I would even want you posting in here again.
I am not a Republican just so you know. So if your tirade is directed at me you are barking up the wrong tree. I am a conservative! Who does not believe in BIG government or BIG spending and believes we should be working toward a balanced budget and getting rid of the flakes in Washington who have cushy jobs while hundreds of thousands of people are still losing their jobs each month! How many czars do we need in AMERICA?? I mean REALLY how many????
